Clinical Supervision
The purpose of clinical supervision is to provide a safe and confidential environment for staff to reflect on and discuss their work and their personal and professional responses to their work. The focus is on supporting staff in their personal and professional development and in reflecting on their practice.
Clinical Supervision
I have extensive experience in the supervision of psychologists, managers, nurses, prison officers, trainees, and peers both individually and within supervision groups. I have worked alongside and supervised the practice of Clinical, Counselling and Forensic Psychologists. I have also attended and provided extensive training to colleagues and peers on the topic of supervision.
I am knowledgeable and experienced in Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, CBT, Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to name a few. I am comfortable and experienced in the supervision of psychologists working with clients presenting with a high risk of harm to themselves and others, and my extensive knowledge of the NHS acute services means I am well placed to support you to integrate and communicate your clients’ needs when working alongside NHS services.
I am safe, containing, and reliable, supervisor who recognises that I am here to help ask the right questions to enable your own learning and growth. I am not here to direct your practice, but to support you to get the best and most out of your client work. As with my own clients, my approach is person-centred, empathetic, and non-judgemental, and I am comfortable for you to involve as much about ‘you’ as you feel comfortable with.
